Not a bad score at all as if you round it off, it’s actually a perfect TEN already. From the looks of that rating, we can say the Mobi is Good TO READ!

I’m a huge fan of the Chosen One universe of books and was looking forward to Achim’s story, but this left me disappointed. It’s as if it had been written with little knowledge of the books that had come before it. The plot was uninspired, and only seemed to serve as a bridge to the next spin-off. What I found most disturbing was the lack of involvement with previous books’ characters who would have been more suited to the challenges thrown at the hellhounds, like Henry; his absence was briefly noted but the reason for it was so lame. And even past characters who did show up were barely given any attention, as if the author couldn’t be bothered to flesh out the story. Too much emphasis was given to future storylines and new characters at the expense of the beloved ones I’ve stuck around for.And the supposed main characters of the book? I’m good with the fated mate trope, but these two did such a half-assed job of it that I couldn’t feel any chemistry between them. Banter and sex didn’t do it. There was more space dedicated to the precocious antics of child Ryan than to any actual conversations between Achim and Ozias; most communication between them was superficial or imagined in internal dialogue, and there was no real character or relationship development. I felt like they got the short shrift in order to move the story arc along.I’ve read previous books in this universe through KU first and then purchased them for my collection, but I won’t be doing it for this one. I didn’t buy Stop Kidding Around, either, because it wasn’t up to the level of earlier installments. I’ll give the spin-off series a try since I can borrow it through KU, but if it’s also a letdown, I’ll probably give up the hope for a return to what made this universe so special, and just reread the books I already have.
